
The Horticultural Innovation Expertise Network (REIH), in collaboration with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), Équipements R&R, Univerco, and Désherbex, is pleased to invite you to a demonstration day focused on automated and precision weeding technologies in vegetable farming.
For this event, Équipements R&R, Univerco, and Désherbex will generously make their equipment available to growers so it can be demonstrated under real-world production conditions. This event will be a unique opportunity to see various technologies in action, talk with the manufacturers, distributors, and researchers in attendance, and discover solutions tailored to the realities of Quebec’s horticultural businesses.
The demonstrations will be conducted according to a predetermined sequence that allows for changes in equipment and tractors between the various stations.
Agricarrières will also be at the event to present its new programs and talk with growers.
9 a.m. – Welcome reception for participants, coffee, and networking
9:30 a.m. – Introduction to the day’s events by the Horticultural Innovation Expertise Network (REIH) and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC)
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Equipment demonstration tour:
1. RXF900 – R&R Equipment
A precision sprayer developed by Rumex that uses cameras and individually controlled nozzles to apply products only where needed.
Demonstration in onion and carrot fields.
2. Zurama – R&R Equipment
A multi-row weeder developed by Feldklasse, equipped with a guidance system that facilitates weeding close to the row.
Demonstration in beet and lettuce fields.
3. Éco Weeder – Univerco
Mechanical weeding equipment for intra-row and inter-row use, designed by Univerco, that significantly reduces the use of herbicides.
Demonstration in cabbage and beet fields.
4. Rukaby – R&R Equipment
A guided hoeing machine developed by Feldklasse, designed for precise mechanical cultivation on vegetable beds.
Demonstration in onion and beet fields.
5. ARA–Univerco
A precision sprayer developed by Ecorobotix that uses artificial intelligence and onboard cameras to individually detect crops and weeds.
Demonstration in a lettuce field.
6. Désherbex
An automated mechanical weeding system developed by Désherbex that uses computer vision to operate with precision near crops.
Demonstrations in onion, carrot, beet, and lettuce fields.
