L’Assomption RCM, August 18, 2026 –A $10 million investment is taking shape in the Repentigny sector of the Agtech Zone, where the Riendeau Group began construction in June on a 36,657-square-foot industrial building that will be fully occupied by E. Lefebvre et fils. The building will be dedicated to the design and manufacture of refrigerated truck bodies and will create 16 to 20 jobs when it becomes operational, which is scheduled for spring 2027.
This new construction is the latest in a series of projects taking shape within the Agtech Zone and reflects the growing interest among companies and investors in a business environment dedicated to innovative technologies and equipment for the agricultural and agri-food industries.

The land designated for this new project was acquired by the Riendeau Group, which is overseeing its development and construction. This project marks the Riendeau Group’s second investment in the Agtech Zone, following an initial 27,500-square-foot industrial building, which is currently occupied by a Grenier Group company.
Through an agreement with Zone Agtech, the Riendeau Group has committed to supporting the establishment of companies whose activities contribute to the development of the agtech and agri-food ecosystem. The project announced today is fully in line with this approach.
Through its expertise in refrigerated transport, E. Lefebvre & Sons strengthens a key link in the agri-food chain: the cold chain. Acquired by the Riendeau Group in January 2025, the company’s planned growth initiatives required a relocation to increase production capacity. The company’s operations help ensure food quality is maintained during transport and open the door to new collaborations focused on logistics efficiency, product preservation, and reducing food loss throughout the value chain. The new facility will also enable them to develop refrigerated containers that are more durable, more robust, and better insulated.
With this new project, investments in the Agtech Zone since its creation in 2020 have surpassed the $74 million mark.

In addition to being very active in the real estate sector, the Riendeau Group comprises about 15 companies involved in meat distribution and processing. The group employs approximately 650 people in Quebec, Ontario, and New Brunswick.
