L’Assomption RCM (Quebec), September 17, 2026 –On September 16, theAgtech Zone hosted a Moroccan delegation from the agriculture and innovation ecosystem for a day of networking between the agtech ecosystems of Quebec and Morocco. Bringing together representatives from Domseeds—the corporate venture capital and venture studio of Domaines Agricoles—and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), among others, the initiative aims to foster collaborations, pilot projects, and commercial deployment opportunities between the two regions.
“In a context where market diversification is becoming essential, the Agtech Zone is developing international corridors that enable our companies to gain faster access to new partners and markets. In particular, we want to strengthen these ties with Francophone countries, where the shared language, economic relationships, and common agricultural challenges can serve as real drivers of development for our companies. ” – Marilou Cyr, Executive Director, Zone Agtech
“Morocco is a particularly promising market for Quebec agtech companies, as many of our technologies directly address the challenges facing its agricultural sector. It can also serve as a strategic gateway to Africa. This mission aims to forge concrete ties with stakeholders capable of testing, adapting, and deploying Quebec’s solutions, thereby opening up new development opportunities for our companies. ” – Soulaf Slaoui, Director of Acceleration Programs, Zone Agtech
“Strengthening the Canada–Morocco and Canada–Africa corridors represents a strategic opportunity to intensify economic and scientific exchanges, particularly in the agricultural sector. By bringing together businesses, producers, researchers, and innovation stakeholders, we aim to foster concrete collaborations, accelerate the testing of innovative solutions, and build lasting bridges between the Canadian, Moroccan, and African ecosystems.” –Moroccan delegation at AGTECH
The event brought together eleven innovative companies: Solugen Global, Les Solutions Horticoles HerbiaEra, Nectar Technologies, SpectrAI, YADAG, Ecohyolis, Bleiz, Leedana, SENTINUS Technologies, Circulus Agtech, and Agriculturix. Several of these companies are led or co-founded by entrepreneurs who are Moroccan or of Moroccan origin, illustrating the personal and entrepreneurial ties that already exist between the innovation ecosystems of Quebec and Morocco.
Some of these companies also receive support through the Go Global Québec program, launched by Zone Agtech in partnership with SVG Ventures | THRIVE, which helps Quebec agtech companies expand into international markets.
Their solutions cover, among other things, precision agriculture, artificial intelligence, clean technologies, horticultural production, resource management, automation, and improvements in the performance and sustainability of agricultural production.
The delegation also visited Vertiberry, which specializes in the production of berries in a controlled environment, as well as Serres Point du Jour. These visits will provide an opportunity to observe real-world production environments and illustrate how agtech can be integrated, tested, and demonstrated directly in the field.
This approach is at the heart of the Agtech Zone’s mission: to connect technology companies with producers, testing sites, and the partners needed to validate their solutions, measure their impact, and accelerate their commercial adoption.
