AgXis Strawberry and Raspberry Program, powered by Taste of the North

Presented by Taste of the North, the objective of the AgXis Strawberry and Raspberry Program is to attract to Quebec, accelerate the adaptation and/or maturation and ensure the transfer to market of 5 technologies that will significantly reduce labor costs. By the end of the program, the technologies specifically sought must meet one or other of the following conditions.

Weed control

  • Be able to significantly reduce the manual weeding load required on strawberry farms, particularly on organic farms;
  • Generate a return on investment of 2 to 4 years;
  • For any technology, the weight of equipment will become increasingly important to preserve soil health. In Quebec, the maximum recommended weight is 3.5 tonnes per axle.

Harvest

  • Significantly reduce the manual harvesting load required on strawberry farms;
  • Generate a return on investment of 2 to 4 years;
  • Be able to work in the field or on the table;
  • For any technology, the weight of equipment will become increasingly important to preserve soil health. In Quebec, the maximum recommended weight is 3.5 tonnes per axle.

Yield forecasting and operations management

  • Offer growers the opportunity to forecast yields in order to better plan stocks and orders.
  • Modular workforce management platform to meet the needs of small farms.

Fertirrigation

  • Economically accessible precision fertigation technology for small vs. large growers.

Companies with applicable technologies, or those wishing to adapt their technology to these needs, are invited to apply.
